Thankful 30: Day 4-6

November 7, 2012

Sunday Day 4:, daylight saving, I am thankful for a 13 month old who slept in till the new 9am…aka the old 10am. My little snuggle bug loves her sleep

Monday Day 5: I’m thankful for my beautiful home and how much it has become more “ours” day by day. I can’t wait for the memories we will make here over the years and so thankful for the memories we have already shared. Like a first birthday! 🙂

Tuesday Day 6: I’m thankful for my right to vote. I’m thankful for being an American and I look forward to encouraging my daughter to exercise her right to vote, whenever she can and for whomever she supports.

Thankful 30: Day 3

November 4, 2012

I’m thankful that Sofia is growing up near cousins! We had my niece Mia over today and we did some great fall projects and hung out all day. I’m so happy that Sofia will have great memories like today (well, she won’t remember today specifically!) to look forward to on a regular basis!

30 days of Thanks (Day 1 and 2)

November 3, 2012

I keep seeing everyone post on Facebook what they are thankful for each day of November. I figured I would join in the fun. Since today is November 2nd, I’ll start with my day 1 and day 2 “thankful’s”!

Day 1: I am so thankful for my Husband, he is such an amazing provider and a wonderful father. He has been my strength in all the events over the last 14 months. I’m so thankful for his resolve, his compassion and his passion for everything he puts his heart into. I can only imagine going through our amazing journey hand in hand with my husband. I have seen him be strong for me and our daughter. I have seen him be scared for us too. I have watched him advocate for our child’s well being, without hesitation if something seemed “off” with orders or decisions by doctors and nurses. And I have watched him be involved with all of Sofia’s milestones, from first giggles to dirty diapers. He is my rock.
Day 2: I am thankful for the health of my baby girl. I can honestly say that I have spent the last 13 months NOT thinking about what our NICU experience could have been. Just this past week, Sofia had her first sinus infection and the Nurse Practitioner reminded me that this is the first time in 13 months that she has been given an antibiotic for an illness. Have we been on a breathing treatment, yes but no antibiotics till now. That is an amazing run considering how fragile her immune system still is. It’s just further testimony that keeping her away from anyone who even thinks they could, possibly, may be sick, will continue!

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Chenoa! I'm a Florida native originally from Miami but has been living in Maitland for 22 years with a short 2-year break where she lived in (and fell in love with) Raleigh, NC. She’s part “adopted Southern charm” with a streak of feisty Miami girl! Read More…
