Sofia 8 Months: May/June

September 12, 2012

May 27th was our first official pool day
our little fishy. She has always been a big fan of bath time so we were hoping the cold water wouldn’t be a shock for her. And it wasn’t! She did skip a single splashy beat. She also had no problem with getting a little splash of water in her face. As a matter of fact the only tears we got were when I removed her from the water so we could take a little break from the sun. She was very adamant about telling me she didn’t appreciate me interrupting her fun. I apologized and explained that’s sort of my job these day.

This month Sofia has been working on turning from tummy to back and has gotten much better at lately. She still loves bath time and is such a good sleeper. We just recently started on purees. Glama and I have been making her different things, she hasn’t turned away much of anything yet. She has tried carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes and apples.

Apples in the Bumbo…just another Saturday morning!

Sofia 7 Months: April/May

September 5, 2012

Working hard at controlling that neck and sitting up!

Late April and early may was a big time for the Farsaci family! We bought a new house, Sofia met her Great Grandad, we watched some great friends get married, started cloth diapering and all the while Sofie hit some great milestones. During packing and moving Sofia was working really hard to try and roll from tummy to back and gaining strength with tummy time. The day before her 7 monthaversary she bore weight on her legs for the very first time!

Tummy time, getting some strength.
April 23rd: At the end of April we also got a chance to attend the Great Cloth Diaper Change and learned a lot about cloth diapering and met some great Mommy’s who support cloth.
April 28th- We can’t forget our participation as a family team in the March of Dimes Walk for a cure. Our team name was Steps for Sofia and we got our amazing tees from Shirt Works Orlando . We had a good turn out and some amazing friends who weren’t able to attend but made contributions to help us hit our goal. We can’t wait to walk again next year and meet more tiny miracles!

On May 6th Sofia met Great Grandad for the first time at a brunch at our family’s favorite spot, The Tap Room at Dubsdread. It was so amazing to have the opportunity to get the family together. We were missing some of the cousins but you got to take what you can get with this fast paced family!

May 11-14th we went on Sofia’s 2nd plane ride to Rhode Island to watch Mr. and Mrs. Heinz tie the knot! She may have hit the 7 month mark for actual age but she was just a few days out for her 4 months adjusted mark. Our little peanut did amazing during the trip. She was an angel on the plane ride and did great during the wedding and site seeing. She even toughed it out during a 1am fire alarm that was pulled at the hotel. Everyone evacuated the building and stood outside in the cold and as soon as we were out of ear shot of the alarm, she went right back to sleep for the rest of the night! We had a great time eating amazing clam chowder and checking out downtown Newport.

Sunday, my first Mother’s day, we had brunch on the water with the newlyweds and then strolled around downtown Newport shopping and enjoying the beautiful weather. That night we had a great dinner on a restaurant on the water and I was able to meet up with my best friend from high school Trisha and her baby girl Nikky. I was so excited she was willing to spend her Mother’s day with me!

Sofia and Nikky meet for the first time! Nikky was a little skeptical of the new kid. 😉

Time to catch up!!!

September 5, 2012

So, I’ve been seriously slacking on the blog posts between moving into our new house, having a busted laptop, working full time and…oh ya, being a Mommy to very awesome little girl who is growing leaps and bounds. So, I’ve decided that leading up to her 1st bday it’s time to catch up on what’s been missed.

Isn’t that one happy baby?

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Chenoa! I'm a Florida native originally from Miami but has been living in Maitland for 22 years with a short 2-year break where she lived in (and fell in love with) Raleigh, NC. She’s part “adopted Southern charm” with a streak of feisty Miami girl! Read More…
